Spain and weddings go together remarkably well. The favorable climate and the sangria undoubtedly have something to do with that. Furthermore, the country is full of characterful places where a wedding naturally becomes a relaxed, atmospheric day (or weekend).

Coast or inland? Both have their charm.

Many people immediately think of the coast when it comes to getting married in Spain. And honestly: a ceremony with a sea view and a dinner at sunset sounds pretty good, too. But the Spanish The interior is at least as beautiful. That is often where you find the most authentic locations: old country houses with colorful courtyards, olive groves, and peaceful hills where life moves a notch slower.

Cortijo or finca: what is the difference?

During your search for a Spanish wedding venue, you will likely frequently come across these types of locations: a cortijo and a finca. A cortijo is a traditional Andalusian farmhouse, often built around a courtyard. Think of white walls, wooden beams, and a rustic appearance. Cortijos are usually situated in the countryside and exude typical Southern Spanish charm. A finca is a broader term and simply means estate or country house. This can be a farmhouse, but also a villa, vineyard, or country house with gardens and a swimming pool. In both cases, there is plenty of atmosphere for a wedding that feels like a holiday.

Two Spanish wedding venues that showcase it perfectly

Finca La Gloria is situated in the Andalusian countryside, surrounded by hills and olive groves. The finca combines rustic charm with comfort and offers multiple spaces for the ceremony, dinner, and party. It is ideal for couples who wish to celebrate their wedding in a relaxed setting without having to change locations. What makes this finca extra special is its strong connection to nature and everything that grows there. The grounds are managed according to permaculture principles, and much of the food comes directly from the on-site gardens: fresh vegetables, herbs, and produce prepared with care. This gives the entire experience a pure and local character.

Located between Seville and Jerez lies Hacienda de San Rafael, an elegant hacienda with beautiful gardens and courtyards. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed: palm trees, long al fresco dinners, and plenty of space to turn it into a complete wedding weekend. Conveniently, it is close to Seville, so a city trip can be added for guests who enjoy it.
